Coronavirus (COVID-19) requirements

 

  • The homeowner/tenant/estate agent to confirm in advance that no-one with Covid-19 symptoms has been in the house for 14 days.

  • The homeowner/tenant/estate agent to confirm in advance that they are aware of the rules on self-isolating and that no-one in the house is isolating.

  • The homeowner/tenant/estate agent is required to ventilate the property as much as possible immediately prior to the assessment, and to then shut external doors and windows whilst the assessment is carried out.

  • The homeowner/tenant/estate agent is required to discuss in advance any issues that could result in higher risk on site that could not reasonably be anticipate.

  • Touching of the property will be as limited as possible. Internal doors should be unlocked, open and lights left on. 

  • Nothing will be moved so full access to the gas meter, electric meter, boiler, thermostat, programmer, immersion tank and any loft hatches will be needed to gain photographic audit evidence for the assessment.

  • Gloves and face masks will be worn by the assessor at all times.       

  • Shoe covers will be worn upon entry to the house if needed.

  • The assessment will be cancelled if the assessor shows any symptoms of Covid-19 or related symptoms (eg bad cold).

  • If the assessor has knowingly been in contact with anyone with Covid-19 they will not undertake assessment. i.e. they will follow Government rules and timescales on self-isolation.
